Originally from Florida, I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for the better part of 14 years. Although, the majority of the last three years have been spent in Paris France with my two children, where my love for food and the French culture exploded.
If I had been aware of this medium of communication when we moved to France I would have had the pleasure of chronicling my year at the Ecole Superior de Cuisine Francaise in the 6th arrondissement: The joys and pains. I wonder if I would have had the strength after some of those days to recapture the tastes and the emotions that bombarded me. But, it would have been wonderful to have it all out there to share and to look back on....
As it stands, we are in the last stretch of time here in Paris and my hope is to share how far we have come since the 'canicule' (heat wave) in August 2003 and the transition back to our island of 4000 residents this summer. Orcas Island. A treasure off the coast of WA state.
On Orcas, I'll be sharing my love of cooking and France through classes, a new, retail kitchen store and catering. And of course this fantastic invention called a blog!
a plus,
Wendy
